Since its inception in 2004, Contrasto Armonico has been aiming to inspire and engage a large and diverse audience through highly artistic early music performances, educational projects, lectures, and workshops.
We believe in the power of music, a universal language which brings people together.
We believe that historically informed performance practice has a very strong impact on the understanding of music from the past.
Performing on instruments that the composers would have known in their time, and applying historical techniques - not just how to move our bows or what finger patterns to use, but considering principles of harmony, structure, and rhetoric - allows us to show our audience how we see this vibrant music with a different light.
